Doctoral Candidate in Human Rights Law at the Friedrich Alexander University of Erlangen-Nuremberg, Germany. Doctoral research will investigate the intersection of gender-based violence, poverty, gender stereotypes, culture and tradition, law discrimination amongst other issues in to devise a multidimensional approach to dealing with the problem of gender-based violence in Cameroon and to understand why the Cameroonian society as a whole has not been able to get past all the structures and dynamics which favour gender-based violence. Seeks to be part of a process that advances human rights and promotes individual and general development. Supports gender equality, and inclusive and sustainable development initiatives. Working towards becoming an expert in and advocate for gender – based approaches to sustainable peace, development and human rights.

Working Experience

August 2017 –present: Cameroon Advocacy Associate, Contra Nocendi Cameroon

Duties:

· Provide research support on organization thematic interests in Cameroon including administration of justice and rule of law, arbitrary arrest and detention, torture and cruel and inhuman or degrading treatment, treatment in detention and prison conditions, freedom of expression, assembly and association, protection of human rights defenders

· Contribute to Contra Nocendi submissions to international human rights monitoring bodies

· Drafting, editing and translating articles in English or French published monthly in the organisation’s newsletter.

· Assist in designing, planning and implementing advocacy strategy and campaigns.

· Monitoring and reporting on the human rights situation in Cameroon through the OpenEvsys platform

· Verify and report on alleged human rights violations connected to the Anglophone crisis in Cameroon

· Collaborate with partner organisations to promote the respect and protection of human rights

· Designed the underprivileged donation platform for orphans

· Contributed to the planning and organisation of capacity building seminar for gender empowerment.
